.. This child hasn't even been weaned yet, for Pete's sake. Still has a milk 'stache. My biggest trouble was "letting go", not fighting his manipulation of me so he could do these initial measurements, especially with regard to my back, cuz I was guarding so much. I sure was good at pushing back when he asked me to. I had prayed he wouldn't make my back worse, and gave him his marching orders re: that at the outset. sound familiar to your husband, sarju? LOL very familiar, OH2. I pray your PT is understanding and can "sense" when you have had enough. My dh is one of the best PT's around. How do I know? everyone tells me so. LOL but you know why? He loves people and listens to them. Lord I pray this "setback" is not permanent and OH2 is able to continue in therapy and benefit from it. I pray this Barely Weaned one is able to realize therapy is not all from books but that each individual is different and needs to be treated accordingly. Thank you Father for the improvement that OH2 has already made.

for a complete pain-free recovery for oh2binva so she will be able to go back to work. We sure do appreciate all that these physical therapist do to rehabilitate injured people so they can function properly. And we need them and many need ohbinva for her special care because she knows what pain is first hand and loves You. In the name of Jesus. Amen

Thank you so, Betty and Sarju--took two narcotic pills yesterday, and woke up pain free this morning. yessssss.......had a really good 1/2 hour in church, then......rats. those hard chairs. I will believe in Him for healing. If necessary, I will see a neurosurgeon, altho' I was trying to keep this back pain as unassociated temporally with my knee surgery as possible, in case of any future disability due to the back issues. (My expensive disability policy has an exclusion rider for my entire left leg or anything related to that because of my 4 prior knee surgeries in my 20's.) So I've been paying cash for acupuncture, and the PT is officially for my knee. So this back pain doesn't officially exist on the medical radar. This insurance co is frankly a pain to deal with, very cavalier and frankly incompetent in my dealings with them for 19 years. so I don't trust them to do right by me let alone pay for a future disability w/o a terrific fight. But the pain is only a 4-5 today. I praise him for that! Once again, I'm praying and hoping for a breakthrough. Thank you so much for your prayers--I know he listens. Please pray for a near complete or complete resolution of this soon so I know what to do.

Father, I pray that You will give oh2binva a good pain free night. Please, Lord, make it so she wakes up refreshed. Watch over her and keep her in Your most loving care. In Jesus' Sweet name I pray, Amen.

ORIGINAL: sarju60 Father I too ask for a speedy recovery for OH2. Lord I ask that her pain be diminished and she will have no more setbacks from her physical therapy. Thank you, marstacy, betty and sarju--I went to the Barely Weaned one today, and asked him to do nothing more with my back for now.. he DID want to look at it, and said the whole lower back is torsed/crooked, much worse than it was last week, probably as a pain response to the disc, but that it is likely squooshing my foramina, the holes that the spinal nerves come out of. so I got some exercises from him to try to unsquoosh ....and so it is. The pain is better today, 3-4. :) Thank you, Jesus. I firmly believe your faithful prayers are helping me. Thank you so much. 2 weeks, 6 days. I tell my Father i don't want relief in order to go to Tahiti, but to fulfill my obligation to go back to work. I know he understands. :) I will go see a neurosurgeon if necessary. My orthopod says this could last up to 6 months...... BTW , SWEET bETTY, oops, I'm not a PT, but a pathologist, so I sit all day practically, looking thru a microscope , which does not fidget if I do.......or in meetings/committees, hence the necessity of sitting, and sitting really still. It's been my career for 19 years this week, so there's a whole lot at stake. And I know how to do absolutely nothing else. :{ I just want to go back and take some of the heat off of my colleagues, cuz summertime is vacation time for a lot of folks in our group who have kids. However, if I hadn't gotten into med school, I WOULD have been a physical therapist, cuz I think that would be such a terrific job. Seems very rewarding, at least in the out pt. setting. The Barely Weaned one really does seem to know his stuff, even tho' he can't be much older than 26......

Father, Thank you for the help you already have given but you know about what appears to be a setback. Please give excellent reasons for oh2binva to be encouraged. We ask for obvious, continual improvement and freedom from pain. We continue to give you thanks and to pray in the name of Jesus Christ for oh2binva. Amen.

oh, jim, marstacy and betty, thank you so much for your prayers. I had ZERO pain this morning at 830--normally it starts 10 minutes after I wake up, and this was 2.5 hours after waking up . so I went to work! , as I had time before my 1045 acupuncture appt. On a whim. Shorts, Tshirt and all. The Joint Commission was there, inspecting the hospital. Glad they didn't see me :) I just wanted to practice sitting. In MY chair. I lasted 45 minutes, signed out 4 cases. Went to acupuncture, came back to work at 1230 and signed out 10 more. I hurt after a 1/2 hour. Badly. But......I prayed that God would make it easier, and I left at 315 , went into traction and took a Neurontin. So Thursday I will go back for a few hours, this time with Neurontin on board, and see if it impairs my thinking (not a narcotic, helps nerve pain, but it makes me sleepy). I am having my work/diagnoses 50% reviewed by another doc, so I will not risk hurting a pt. I will play with my chair, maybe add some pillows. it will be faster cuz not so many people will be dropping by for hugs. But man, that felt good too. Thank you all for your prayers--I know he hears, and I know he knows I need to go back to work. please if you would continue to pray for continued resolution--I don't even need the pain to go away, just be little enough/manageable enough that i am able to work a full day in 2 1/2 weeks. Please, Father, please.

Dear sister, bety, sarju and John: Thank you. No significant pain at all today, despite a trying painful night. Had a numb foot this morning and a panic attack that was as bad as anything from my college/agoraphobic days. Could barely drive to PT, sobbed, shook and hyperventilated the whole way. So sarju, they don't go away totally, but they DO get better, lesser with medication, and the KNOWLEDGE of what they are is a very powerful weapon all by itself. I Let the Barely Weaned one pull, bend, twist, lift. He is trying to straighten my back. He said the back is so bad we can go no farther with the knee for now. :( so if y 'all would continue to pray for less pain, and that I can soon focus on my knee again, I would so appreciate it. thank you so much. He listens. You are all so special. Thank you. will try to work a few hours tomorrow.

(((OH2)))) So sorry about the panic attack. I can't imagine dealing with that. I hope it is not the thought of physical therapy contributing to it!! Tell me do you become aware of what triggers them or do they just come for no reason. Meg says she has them in almost every situation. Breaks my heart. Lord I do pray for less for our dear sister in Christ as she faces treatment and healing. Lord I know it is a painful surgery and a painful recovery but I pray you will ease her pain. I ask for healing for her back so more attention can be put on her knee. Thank you for your goodness, Lord.

Father, Be very close to oh2binva and put Your Healing Hand on her. Remove her pain, and please give great skill to the PT so that her back can be made straight and her knee strengthened and healed. Surround her with Your protection and loving care. In Jesus' Most Wonderful name I pray, Amen.

I ask for healing for her back so more attention can be put on her knee. Thank you for your goodness, Lord. Sister, Jim, sarju and marstacy--thank you all so much for your prayers. God hears! I went back to work today for 5 hours, complete with a whole armamentarium of fanny cushions, lumbar supports, back stretchers, pillows and a few pills. There was pain, but nothing I couldn't handle: 3-4 on a scale of 1-10. Not bad. Not bad indeed :) compared to where I was even last week. And my thinking was pretty clear, even on Neurontin. Praise God. I think I will be able to do this, but only cuz of His provision and his response to YOUR prayers. I'll work twice next week, and sit in a 2.5 hour QA meeting. And try not to snore ;) I just PRAISE HIM cuz the pain has gotten better since i got home and went in traction. Thank you, Father, I pray this continues, please. thank you for the hope. Thank you for these poeple who care enough to pray for me and so many others. Sarju, in my younger days, the attacks had absolutely no trigger whatsoever, altho' i was more susceptible when tired. They started in 1976, at age 19. And of course agoraphobia--driving, escalators, elevators, tunnels, bridges, planes, bicycles, anything away from "safe" . Eating! made me panic. It makes you a hermit. HAd 10 or more/day. And in college, no one, no doctor, could tell me what was wrong with me, i just knew I was dying. So i called 'em "dying spells". I was immobilized. There would be times of lesser attacks, but they never went away for any length of time till Zoloft, 16 years later. Now I can go months. A God given miracle. How I'm still alive, let alone a graduate, is a complete mystery. God's hand. BTW, I diagnosed my self, in a statistics class, when i was thumbing thru my intro to Psychiatry book. there were 1 1/2 pages on anxiety, and panic, and there in that book, was ME. Now that I'm older, there is still often no trigger, but yesterday, the numb foot sent me into a tailspin, as I quickly had myself with foot drop, then inability to walk, then stroke, then yada yada. Then my left arm went numb--not a stroke, just pure hyperventilation. But this was a doozy. haven't had one like that in AGES. A touch of Xanax worked within a half hour--i never leave home w/o it. ;) Seriously. I pray for Meg, cuz oh how i know the BONDAGE and PARALYSIS of this illness. I pray she gets the relief I finally did. yes, knowledge of WHAT THEY ARE is key, but that still never helped with these major ones. it just takes you over. But there is RELIEF, or at least the promise of significant reduction. I promise. but what works for me may not work for meg. it's trial and error to find the right med combo.
