I use "valley" here as a way of describing a very low place. I feel bad asking for prayer, as I know and see here on these forums that others are so much worse off than I.
I recently had a knee replacement (4 weeks ago), and there has been the typical pain. The day after surgery I injured my back--?during physical therapy--and have sciatica that makes it difficult to sit. Selfishly? I had this surgery, as I desired to get my life back after serious athletic injuries and surgeries 30 years ago, to be able to walk w/o pain. To exercise to lose some weight. I asked God to block the surgery if it wasn't his will. God seemed to block the initial surgery in April, as my EKG showed I'd had a heart attack (further workup showed I didn't, but surgery was postponed). You all prayed for me on this forum, and he answered at that time.
It's been 4 weeks of chronic unrelieved pain and discouragement, with many tears daily. I need to sit to work.
I am very worried about my mom, whose breathing is very bad and she's developed back pain that came on quite suddenly--- ?a fracture due to lung cancer ?osteoporosis ?Muscle--and refuses to see a doctor for now.
Above all this, my cat is trying to die. She has been abnormal since my surgery, won't eat, and hides all day. She's lost 2 lbs. I have been treating her for inflammatory bowel disease since august, and she never seems to get better, despite the numerous medications and special diets she's gotten. The ER vet I saw today thinks there may be cancer, and said her not eating is life or death. She seems to be dying before my eyes.
I know God is not a genie who magically removes trouble from us. I know I need to pray in his will. I know I need to wait on him for healing for me, my mom, and my cat. I'm just so emotionally fragile right now, and fear I'm being punished for something. Instead of being a time for rest and recuperation, this 4 weeks has been frankly lousy and stressful.
If you'd pray for a right spirit for me, and strength to abide and endure,including relief of pain if that be His will, I'd be so grateful. God bless you all, and thank you for reading my whining.

Father we know the valley is just as deep no matter what it takes to put us there. I pray you will raise oh2binva from this valley she is in. Lord sometimes troubles just pile on on top of the other and it does seem we are being punished but I pray you will stop the devil's lies and give oh2binva the strength to rise above these difficulties. Lord heal her from this surgery. I ask that the cause of her mothers problems be found and treated appropriately. I pray for comfort for her as she ministers to this old friend of hers. Losing a pet is very traumatic and sad and watching one suffer makes it even worse. Please let your will be known clearly to oh2binva and let her find peace in your solutions. Thank you Father.

Just saw your heart-wrenching prayer request and before I go to bed I want
to pray for you and your time in the valley!
Remember God is everywhere and His Son knows exactly what you are going through and now I want to pray to Him with tears in my eyes for you in your pain!
Dear Lord Jesus, We want to thank You for all that You suffered while You were on the earth and experienced pain, rejection, spitting, beating all because You love me, oh2binva and everybody enough to die on the Cross. You were the Only One Who was sinless and qualified to pay the price for our sins! Wow! What A God we are praying to!! So we ask You boldly to help oh2binva right now! Bring several miracles in her life and may she know Your presence personally at this time of suffering, pain and in the valley! May she soon feel the warmth of Your love and bring the mountains of sunshine back into life. In Jesus' loving name we pray. Amen.

Oh thank you, Betty. It was hard to get up today. But God blessed me with a six hour sleep last night, so I am grateful. The tears are already starting, and I need to call the vet today, and am afraid--afraid of this limbo with her, afraid of having to make a terrible decision, afraid of having to continue to watch this deterioration. Afraid to wait, and to not know.
Please pray for my fear, and my impatience. I need to feel God very near right now, and I don't. God bless you, sister.

Lord, Help oh2binva with these many pressures she is under. May she lay each one of them before You Who are the loving,understanding,and compassionate God whom she needs really bad now!
Help the vet be compassionate and understanding to deal her cat.
Help her mother who is in pain and is having a hard time breathing.
Lord, I saw a glimmer of hope in her original posting where You successful were with her when she had surgery and did not have have any heart complications, Praise You, dear Lord! What a miracle!
May I and others who are praying believe You will continue to bring on more miracles in her life. May we all keep our eyes on You, Lord Who has said I am the Light of the world! May You give her something to take this pain away and dull the pain.
And we want to say a special prayer for her husband at this time to be loving and understanding and may he be used to help his precious wife at this time!!
We thank You and we know that You are using these struggles to make her and us stronger in You!

Please help this poster through all she is facing, give encouragement and strength to keep going. Let her know please Lord that you are right there with her and you will be with her no matter what happens. Give her peace and comfort and bring her safely through this time. Oh Father, thank you for the kindness and grace and prayers of people who don't even know me. I thank you for their faith and desire that mine would be as strong. I need to surrender all to you, everything, and wait for you. Fill my heart, break it if you must, but let me always know you are here.
Oh Father, i thank you for a good report today from the PT today--I'M DONE! Thank you for healing my knee so well so far. Thank you that my back pain is better. But Father, please help my breaking heart. I can let her go if that's what should be done. Part of me is ready, I just need to know it's the right thing to do. Please hold my mom in your hands. Dear God it hurts right now.
Draw us all closer to you, bless these marvelous servants of yours, and Father meet them at their places of need. I pray for Betty who is such an encourager, and for Cindy for a time to enjoy her holiday w/o fear. Father, in Jesus' name. Amen.

Thank You, Lord for helping oh2binva during this time when she needed You the most! You are always faithful to Your children! Comfort her during this time of sorrow with the loss of her precious cat. Yes, we are so thankful that Smudgie is no longer suffering.
We are so thankful that her mother has seen a doctor and we pray that You will help the doctor to give her the best medication and treatment to deal with COPD and her pain.
We are so thankful that we do not have to face our " valley" by ourselves because You are there!

My heart aches for you. I am very sorry to hear about your beloved cat. Pets are so wonderful and they really do become like our own children (at least to many they do).
I was hoping/praying for improvement for your cat.
Lord, I pray for Your loving hand and comfort to be upon her now and help with the sadness of losing a beloved pet. I pray for healing of the knee, and less pain and discomfort. Be with this mother, heal her lungs and just bless these souls Lord God. Hold them close. Minister through the Holy Spirit. Let them know You are with them and let them sense the Holy Spirit upon them. Bring much needed rest and comfort to their bodies, hearts and minds.
I pray this in Jesus precious and Holy name. Amen

PRAISE!!!!!!
Firstly for y'all's compssion and prayers, which surely got me thru today, and will continue to do so. I thank my God for each and every one of you. My hubby's so bottled up he brought me flowers, which mean a lot, but I'd love the tenderness and compassion I get from y'all. But God didn't make him that-away. he does his best. So anyway, these heartfelt emotions mean so much.
AND.......Mom's doctor thinks her pain is bursitis, and not a fracture. GOD BE PRAISED, FOR HE IS GOOD.
AH1, I pray your dog improves, and is his/her old self again. They are indeed like children to those of us who have none.

Father,
Please bless oh2binva with health and freedom from pain. I pray that You will be close by her side in the valleys and carry her when she cannot walk. Surround her with Your Perfect Peace and give her rest so she can travel the path You have chosen. Comfort her with the loss of Smudgie, protect her from the evil one, and bind him so that he cannot cause her any harm. Thank You for the good news about her mom that there is not a fractured bone, and I ask that You also heal and help her mom in the way You know is best. May Your Will be done now and always.

marstacy, my prayer today was Psalm 51. May this valley draw me closer to him, and enable me to surrender all aspects of my life to His good will. Thank you.
I had hoped this 6-8 weeks hiatus/sick time would give me time to refresh and renew and study God's word. I needed to "get off the wheel" of medicine, as I have worked very hard for my group for 19 years and was frankly burning out. This sick time has not turned out as I've hoped, as the days have been filled with physical pain beyond what i expected, discouragement and tears, along with fears if i will ever be able to work again full time (I will if it's his will), fears for my mom, and for the past two weeks my baby Smudge. I am drained.
However, God allowed this physical and emotional pain, and if it brings me closer to him, that's super OK. I would still request his refreshment and renewal.

Praying for your tender heart tonight, sister. Indeed, may any emotional and physical pain you face bring you closer to our Heavenly Father.
Dear God, we may not always understand things, but we trust that You do. I pray for a special annointing of your precious and holy spirit to bless this sister. May her time in the valley be but for a season. Asking, Lord, for a renewal of mind and spirit for her. Bless her with Thy peace that surpasses all understanding. Grant her much in the way of wisdom and insight. I ask that no good thing be held from her, Father. May she truly feel the joy of her salvation, trusting in Jesus Christ as her Lord and Savior. had those long dark valley experiences in the past. I am sure that your faith in the

Your kindness to all of us, and to me, moves me to tears, betty. I thank my God for you, and have asked and will continue to ask that he bless you so mightily.
I thought today would be better, but completely broke this afternoon. I know it's "just a cat", and I thank our God I've not yet lost a parent or a spouse, cuz that must be unimaginable. But there's a cat sized hole in my heart, my third such hole, and today I miss her so. The guilt and questioning of did I do the right thing are tearing me apart, which completely stinks. I feel like a hypocrite cuz I pray for others on these forums with words and truths that just seem so far away to me. But I do know what my head believes and knows, and what God's TRUTHFUL word says. It's just gotta get back in my heart.
The physical pain is better, but PT was rough this week and my knee is the size of a honeydew (we won't say how big my thighs are--GIANT watermelon? :) ) . This is temporary, I know. The back pain persistence is very discouraging. I MUST go back to work in a month--I got an extension for 2 more weeks' medical leave on Friday, so I am blessed by that.

Thank you, Father, for strengthening oh2binva. We ask for your comfort and for calm confidence in the merciful decision that she made. Thank you for creating some animals such that they can be wonderful companions. Please cause the PT to go well and bless her with a miraculous recovery. Father, agreeing with the above prayer, and asking for Your comfort for oh2binva over the loss of her cat. Thank You for the blessing of pets Lord. We ask for continued healing for her knee and back and whereever it is needed Lord, and also for healing for her mom. Please bless both of them beyond what we know to ask, and may they walk closely with You Lord. In Jesus name. Amen

Thank you so much, Jim and Sparkles (I like the name Sparkles).
Today was better, but trying to sit in church was a trial again. I was such an uncomfortable fidget, and cried (silently) thru parts of the hymns, cuz they dealt with trials and despair. After the service, the lady behind me tapped me on the shoulder and said she would pray for me cuz it was obvious i was in such pain. Her name was Donna. She has a beautiful singing voice.
Such kindness from all of you. I thank God for all of you, and Donna too
Mom is doing better today, after her panicked call last nite, where she thought she was dying. I gave her some medical advice, some of which she took.......so thank you for your prayers. Please pray for her salvation--I know she has "head/intellectual assent" to the gospel, cuz i was raised in church (presby USA, tho), but she needs to know him in her heart. Daddy too, even tho' he is a regular churchgoer. there is such anger and sadness in that house. Please pray someone will get thru to them, somehow, or TV, or something. Thank you.
Father, i thank you for all these caring folks who are such a blessing to me now. I know you hear the prayers of your children and answer in a way that is in your will, which is always right and good. May they all be blessed and may you meet them in their own needs and shower them with your love and care. Thank you.
