The doctor wanted to see mother again today to assess if she should be hospitalized for better treatment.
Her infection and the pain are gone. Her blood sugar improved enough that the doctor wants to give her two weeks for another assessment.
Whew! It was a rough day, though. She did not want to get out of bed this morning and flat out refused to go to the doctor. However, after having coffee and breakfast in bed, eventually, she seemed to get a glimmer of understanding that seeing the doctor was the necessary thing to do.
She was not feeling well anyway but the fact that the doctor was behind schedule due to several emergencies didn’t help matters. Mother was loudly protesting in the waiting room and in the exam room. We made it though and I’m thankful. When she would get upset, it seemed to help her to settle down when I put my hand at the base of her neck and gently rub, pat, and lightly massage her upper back and shoulders.

Wow, Jim, I can so relate to the care, worry, and also sitting in the waiting room with 'mom' making it known she is not happy waiting, as my mom always did. :)
Lord bless you and her deeply and completely.
Dear God,
Please wrap your arms around Jim, his mom, and family. Keep them close in heart as Jim continues to do what is best for mom. Help her to be at peace and not be afraid with the trips to see the dr., and with needed care as it comes along. Lord, bless her and bring healing. Keep her glucose readings within a reasonable level and keep her infection healing and not returning.
Lord, above all keep the whole family close to you, leaning on you, and assured in Your Mighty Presence. Remind them always to fall back into your arms of love, peace, and rest at the end of the hour, or at the end of the day.
In Jesus name, bless our friend and his whole family.

Our Father, I completely agree with Nan in her prayer for peaceofGod, his mother and their whole family.
Thank You, for getting his mother to the doctor, for helping peaceofGod in calming his mother and for the strength that You provide as needed for each day.

Father,
Thank You so much that peaceofGod is there to help his mother. Thank You for his tender heart and willingness to go the distance to get her the best care possible. I pray that You will heal his mother, give her energy, uplift her mood, and help her know how blessed she is to have such a faithful son and a loving God. Lord, please give her some good days and nights ahead. I pray that You will continue to provide strength and wisdom to him as the care needs continue. Please lift him and his wife up day by day, protect all of them, and keep them in Your most tender and loving care.

Father I ask for continued healing of peaceofGod's mother. I ask that her strength increases daily. I pray you give peaceofGod time for a little peace and quiet and time to recoup. Thank you for all you have done for his mother. It is wonderful to see such a bond and so much caring.

Update
The nurse came yesterday. Her blood sugar was a little better yesterday. What would help greatly at this stage is an appetite for the right foods and strength. The physical therapist comes today.

The physical therapist came today to assess mother’s needs and her strengths. He said that she is in the grey area as far as a need is concerned for a therapist to come to her apartment. He gave me instructions on exercises for her. He said he’d send a therapist regularly for a while if we want him to but that I could give the exercises to mother instead if we agreed. Mother agreed to let me exercise her.
She is having what probably is her best day so far after her blood sugar crisis…a remarkable improvement…an anxiety attack of some kind this afternoon...but still her improvement seems to me to be a miracle.
God is answering our prayers.

Heavenly Father I thank you and praise you for your healing hand upon this dear mother and for the strength you are providing for the son and daughter-in-law.
Thank You Jesus for blessing the medications to her body in a wonderful way. I ask for complete healing and and relief from stress and the extra workload for Jim and his wife. All praise, honor and glory to you Heavenly Father in Jesus name we pray. Amen.

I lift up peaceofGod's mother to You again today asking that You continue helping her feel better and stronger.
Bless peaceofGod for all that he is doing for his precious mother, and according to Your Will, please give them
good days and nights in the weeks ahead. Protect this family from harm and keep them in Your loving care.

Father,
Thank you for faithful prayer warriors who are praying for mother.
Thank you for bringing mother toward better health. Please help her to do what will help her most to have better mornings—a time when she now is in her most weakened state. If it would help her to go to bed for the night later than the early evening hours, please help so that she will do so. If it would help her to have a few snacks during the night, please help so that she will do so. I ask that you work in her mind to do what will be the most healthful. I praise you and ask this in the name of Jesus Christ. Amen.
