Isaiah 58:11 (NIV) The LORD will guide you always; he will satisfy your needs in a sun-scorched land and will strengthen your frame. You will be like a well-watered garden, like a spring whose waters never fail. http://vref.me/isa58.11 Online Bible #DailyBible Quote this post and tell us what you think about the verse. Notice it doesn't say that God will take you out of that "sun-scorched land" but rather He'll satisfy your needs and strengthen you to endure the environment. Furthermore, God will use YOU to sustain others around you. YOU will be like a garden giving nourishment. YOU will be like a spring giving water to the parched. Will you allow God to use you?

ORIGINAL: Fritzpw_Admin Matthew 22:21-22 (NIV) "Caesar's," they replied. Then he said to them, "Give to Caesar what is Caesar's, and to God what is God's." When they heard this, they were amazed. So they left him and went away. http://vref.me/mt22.21-22 . . . ..... I always viewed this verse as Jesus showing us that we need to respect the government by being lawful citizens. I also think it debunks the idea that we tithe on the 'net' part of our paychecks... if we tithe a percentage (knowing that not all people believe in this kind of tithing), the percentage should be based off the gross amount of our paychecks.

Proverbs 9:10 (NIV) The fear of the LORD is the beginning of wisdom, and knowledge of the Holy One is understanding. Get that right and everything else falls into place. I love watching "Holmes on Homes". Mike Holmes is a contractor who goes into people's homes to fix what other contractors have messed up. It becomes glaringly obvious that the previous contractors who have taken 10's of thousands of dollars from homeowners just didn't know what they were doing. They had no wisdom or knowledge about construction, code or ethics. Often they compromise the structure that is holding the house up. Often they try to build on walls that aren't level and true. Mike usually has to tear everything they've done out and start over. But, once the structure is sound and the walls and floors are level and true, the rest of the construction or remodel goes in quickly and beautifully. The fear of the Lord and knowledge of the Holy One is the sound structure and the level surfaces that we can build our lives on. We can make wise decisions when we have the true point of reference that is the knowledge of the Holy One, Jesus Christ.

ORIGINAL: Fritzpw_Admin Romans 8:28 (NIV) And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose. http://vref.me/ro8.28 . . . ........ This verse really puts a good perspective on life's challenges. This is a good one for the inmates I write. "...in all things..." is a really cool part of this verse... how different my life would be if it said something like "... in some things..." God is sovereign.... and a lot of people have a hard time chewing on this one... ... being brave enough to look past my difficulties and truly trust God totally causes my faith levels to rise and my appreciation for life to be amplified.

I couldn't sleep tonight and have come on site in the wee small hours of the morning! I was about to log out when I spotted the text in this post... Thank you for reminding me that God will not take us out of a sun scorched land but help us to endure the environment, etc... This is like a PART 2 of something God spoke earlier tonight...

ORIGINAL: Fritzpw_Admin Galatians 6:10 (NIV) Therefore, as we have opportunity, let us do good to all people, especially to those who belong to the family of believers. http://vref.me/ga6.10 This follows in the line of Paul's exhortation to serve believing masters all the better because the benefit of your labor goes directly to the good of believers, the Body of Christ. 1 Timothy 6:2 Those who have believing masters are not to show less respect for them because they are brothers. Instead, they are to serve them even better, because those who benefit from their service are believers, and dear to them. The benefit is directly to the kingdom of God, whereas the good we do to others outside the Body of believers may or may not ultimately result in an eternal gain for the kingdom of God. Apart from all that, isn't it fitting that the children of the family reap the benefits of the family all the more than the passing stranger?

ORIGINAL: Fritzpw_Admin Proverbs 11:30 (NIV) The fruit of the righteous is a tree of life, and he who wins souls is wise. http://vref.me/pr11.30 Online Bible #DailyBible Quote this post and tell us what you think about the verse. If you were to imagine the "fruit" of the righteous what fruit would it be? An apple, pear, kiwi, _____________ ? A big fat ripe (but firm) Georgia peach! Satisfying in taste and texture and pleasing to the eye. In the fruit of our righteousness (love, joy, peace, patience...) is the seed of kindness that might find root in someone else's life and grow there, so they, too, can eat and be satisfied and lead others to the same life by their living testimony. Romans 2:4 "...the riches of his kindness, tolerance and patience...God's kindness (that) leads you toward repentance..."

This isn't any April fools joke. God is sovereign! Sorry I have foregotten about this thread, however this is one of my favorite verses. For those, meaning who 'procclaim' Him as their Father and Lord. He will faithfully change our mistakes to work them into a stance than will Glorify him and not leaving one in shame and working our 'mistakes, errors, sins,' that turns us not only to repentance, but see how he rescues us from our retrobute, iow restoring us. In mho we are to confront our brethern or sister that are in sin, but cautiously do so, if their sin is the same as our own that we may faulter. As we walk and encourage and do not heed we can easily fall back and stumle and we end up decieving ourselves. Maybe? Falling back into the same sin and have hindered the person we were tryin to minister too. I believe Paul wrote/spoke about being a stumbling block and this is divding the same truth. If you are weak with your sin then you can not assist another with the same sin as you will and can stumble allowing them to stumble again as well. CMT I would give an example but ya didn't ask, lol
